There’s masses of myths and legends about tonics for eternal youth but, alas, I doubt any of them are authentic. At the time of writing, there isn’t any quick fix to staying young. All the same, there is still plenty that can be done to keep yourself healthy, young at heart and looking younger than your years.

Even though more and more people are maintaining their health well into old age, some contract chronic diseases normally expected with getting older, along the lines of cardiovascular illnesses, diabetes, osteo-arthritis, acid reflux disease or osteoporosis. While acid reflux treatments can be accomplished with a simple remedy, many other ailments cannot. All these severe health conditions can make you age alarmingly faster than desirable. However, if you’re suffering with a severe health condition, don’t let it beat you. There’s a whole host of alternative remedies that can help (such as tantric yoga exercises) that, while they probably won’t cure your condition, might actually help to alleviate your symptoms, help you live longer, and increase your mobility and fitness.

Under Western culture, it is primarily the traditional medicinal practises that has been subject to the most wide-ranging screening and research. Some holistic therapies like the many benefits of meditation may not be susceptible to this type of research, and where research has been followed through it has oftentimes been of poor quality to be medically conclusive about the therapy’s effectivity.
Having said that, so many complementary therapies have been practised by people far wiser than us for many centuries, and are backed up by the weight of tradition and cultural evidence to support them, irrespective of not having been analyzed by clinical trials.
